The river staff at Headwaters Outfitters really enjoys putting people on the French Broad River and then anticipating the stories that we will hear when we pick everyone up at the take-out. What kind of wildlife did they see? Did their paddling strokes improve as they paddled? Did someone take an unexpected swim? We hear some great stories that take place over the course of three or four hours. Some of those stories may have been yours.

After eighteen years, Headwaters Outfitters is opening a new chapter in our own river story. While we love our French Broad River and will never abandon her, we believe it is time to explore other rivers and bodies of water. It’s a big world and water covers most of it.
