The Forks of the River, a local name for our location, is a taproom that not only celebrates the birthplace of the French Broad River but also the quality of water we all enjoy. We dedicate 12 taps to our breweries within our watershed that makes beer from these pristine mountain waters. We are here because of the water and so is the beer.

Food Trucks
We work with some amazing locally owned and operated food trucks throughout the year. They are each independent from the Taproom and Headwaters, therefor schedules and line-ups can change daily. We will do our best to post a weekly schedule on our social media accounts. Thank you for understanding and for supporting small local businesses.

Meet Colton!
At just 12 years old, Colton is living life fully, especially when it comes to bass fishing- but his story goes deeper than that. He has faced his share of obstacles along the way, and through it all, he continues to show up with a smile on his face and a determination that’s hard to miss.
Whether he’s casting a line off the dock, working on the tractor, or heading into the woods, Colton is most at home outdoors. He’s been fishing since he was big enough to hold a rod, and that passion has only grown stronger with time.
When he’s not fishing, you’ll likely find him hunting — and doing it well. His dad proudly calls him the “Turkey Slayer,” and for good reason… Colton just harvested his third turkey.
Colton reminds us that resilience, grit, and a love for the outdoors can take you a long way. Kids like him are the future of the French Broad — grounded, tough, and full of heart.
Here’s to the next generation of stewards, storytellers, and adventurers.

What a decade it’s been. From adapting through COVID, to recovering after Tropical Storm Fred, and continuing forward after Helene… it hasn’t always been an easy road, but it’s been a meaningful one.
Whether you’ve been here since day one or just stopped in once or twice, we’re grateful you’ve been part of the journey. Our goal has always been simple — to create a place where everyone feels welcome. A place where stories are shared, friends check in on each other, dogs get treats, kids play by the river, and memories are made.

And the best part? Bringing it home to the table. Taylor’s wild turkey casserole—simple, hearty, and hard earned.
Taylor’s Wild Turkey Casserole
• 1/2 turkey breast, cooked ahead of time in the crockpot with broth
• 1 cup wild rice
• 2–3 celery stalks, chopped
• 2–3 carrots, chopped
• 1 can chicken and rice soup
• 2 cups broth
• Salt + pepper to taste
Mix everything together in a baking dish and bake at 350° for about 60 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and vegetables are tender.
Good hunt. Good meal. Good memories. That’s what it’s all about.

This hawk was dropped off at the shop last year after being hit by a car coming from the parkway. We called the raptor center, and they walked us through some recommendations. So we brought him to the farm and followed the steps they provided. Needless to say Hawkeye is doing well, and comes to say hi almost every morning! This morning he put on a show in the sunrise. Thank you @carolinaraptorcenter for helping us keep this bird wild and thriving!
